Global economic crisis will not lead to wars - Lavrov

MOSCOW, April 9 (RIA Novosti) - There are no grounds to believe that the ongoing global economic crisis will lead to wars, Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov said on Thursday.

"I see no grounds to believe that the current crisis will lead to war. What comes to mind is the Great Depression, after which the tendencies towards economic and financial communication faded. This all ended with World War Two. I cannot see any conditions now for this scenario to be repeated," Lavrov said in an interview with RIA Novosti, international TV channel Russia Today and radio station Voice of Russia.
