MOSCOW, April 14 (RIA Novosti) - Moscow considers the
decision by the Hungarian authorities to return a
three-year-old girl involved in a custody dispute to France
premature, the Foreign Minister said on Tuesday.
Elise Andre, who has dual Russian-French citizenship, was
snatched from her 51-year-old father in southern France on
March 20. The mother, Irina Belenkaya, was arrested in Hungary
while attempting to cross the border to Ukraine with Elise on
Sunday night.
"France has not informed us of any accusations made
against Irina Belenkaya (Elise's mother). In this connection we
consider the decision by the Hungarian authorities to return
the girl to French officials premature," Sergei Lavrov said.
He said Russia proposes holding talks on the issue with
France.
