Below is a summary of crimes registered in Russia and the CIS on Friday, April 17

* Moscow police are searching for four men who attacked two Tajik nationals in east Moscow, killing one of them and injuring the other, a police source said

* Bones of a man and a woman, who died about five months ago, were found in Kazan, the capital of Volga Republic of Tatarstan. The man died of a head injury, while the cause of death of the woman has yet to be established

* Police in East Siberia are investigating the death of a 4-month-old child, who supposedly died of ethanol poisoning after being breast-fed by his drunken mother, investigators said

* A 30-year-old drug user locked himself in his apartment and took his 18-month-old daughter hostage, demanding a dose of drugs for her release. The man, who threatened to throw the girl out of the fifth-floor window, was detained by a special police unit

* Moscow police have detained a man who attempted to sell 250 forged 1,000-ruble bank notes, a police spokesman said

* Russian police have detained a Georgian national in possession of 200 forged 1,000-ruble bank notes the village of Mamyri some 23 km (14 miles) west of Moscow, a police source said

* A 19-year-old girl, released on parole, was detained on suspicion of stealing $13,000 and other valuables in the Eastern Siberian city of Krasnoyarsk, a police source said

* Police in the southern Russian city of Nalchik have detained four men on suspicion of stealing goods worth over 1.1 million rubles ($33,000) from a shop, a police source said

* Three muggers, armed with a gun, snatched a bag containing 2 million rubles ($60,000) from a man in northwestern Moscow, a police source said
