Greek premier's wife gives first aid to collapsed journalist

23.04.2009

ATHENS, April 23 (RIA Novosti) - The Greek prime minister's wife, Anastasia Pazaiti-Karamanli, gave emergency medical aid to an unconscious journalist during an official visit with her husband to Cyprus, Cypriot television reported.

During the two-day official visit by Greek Prime Minister Kostas Karamanlis to Cyprus, his wife was visiting an archeological museum on Wednesday in the capital city of Nicosia when a local television cameraman covering the story collapsed.

Anastasia, who is also a general surgery resident at Laikon General Hospital in Athens, immediately began to give the journalist first aid before an ambulance arrived.

The journalist was taken to a hospital, and the prime minister's wife continued her excursion in the country's capital.
