BERLIN, February 2 (RIA Novosti) - A meeting to
prepare for April's G20 summit in London will take place in
Berlin on February 22, a German government spokesman said on
Monday.
Thomas Steg said the Berlin meeting would be held at the
invitation of German Chancellor Angela Merkel, and would be
attended by the leaders of Britain, Italy and France, plus
representatives of other G20 countries. European Commission
President Jose Manuel Barroso is also expected.
The G20 countries, comprising 19 of the world's largest
economies plus the European Union, account for 90% of the
global economy. Britain chairs the G20 in 2009, and London is
to host the G20 summit on April 2.
