MOSCOW, June 10 (RIA Novosti) - Iran's first nuclear
power plant in Bushehr being built by Russia is experiencing
problems as Russian banks are refusing to accept Tehran's
payments under the project, the Atomstroyexport CEO said on
Wednesday.
"Financial problems exist as some Russian banks have
refused to accept Iran's payments under letters of credit,
forcing us to change the funding scheme," Dan Belenkiy said.
"But this is not the Iranian side's fault."
The Russian state nuclear power plant builder has nearly
the plant in southern Iran.
Belenkiy said it was too early to talk about the plant's
launch date.
