Russia may produce up to 981 bcm of gas in 2030 - ministry

MOSCOW, June 25 (RIA Novosti) - Russia's natural gas output could reach up to 981 billion cubic meters in 2030, a senior Energy Ministry official forecast on Thursday.

Vitaly Karaganov, the head of the ministry's oil and gas department, said a general scheme for developing the Russian gas sector was currently awaiting government approval.

He also predicted 2030 gas output would reach a minimum of 876 billion cubic meters.
