URGENT: Ukraine buys 33% of agreed gas in June, faces no fine - Gazprom

MOSCOW, June 26 (RIA Novosti) - Ukraine in June bought a third of the natural gas stipulated in contracts - 1.1 billion cubic meters instead of 3.4 billion - but faces no fines, the Gazprom CEO said on Friday.

Alexei Miller said the Russian energy giant and Ukraine's national oil and gas firm Naftogaz agreed at talks on Friday that although the contracts had not been fulfilled, no penalties would be imposed.
