The number of employees on forced leave and reduced schedules is decreasing. During the last week of July, it was 1,602,000 people. A week before the number was 16,000 people more. This is according to Deputy Minister of Health and Social Development Maxim Topilin.
Russia’s Labor Code prohibits companies from using these systems for more than six months. After six months an employer must either provide a full time schedule again, or release the employees.
According to Maxim Topilin, the Ministry of Health and Social Development is developing a draft bill extend this deadline as a crisis measure to allow existing work positions to be maintained.
