Yesterday in Moscow, the heads of the Constitutional, Supreme Judicial, and Supreme Arbitration Courts presented an important new project at the RIA Novosti news agency – the Russian Agency of Legal and Court Information (RALCI.)
“RALCI will give us the opportunity to correct deficiencies in the court system and it will give citizens the chance to understand courts’ activities,” explained Vyachislav Lebedev, Chairman of the Russian Federation’s Supreme Judicial Court.
According to Lebedev, the publicity and openness of the court system guarantees its valuable existence and fairness in its decision-making.
“Legal power is a public power. If it is not open and transparent, then it will probably be of no value,” believes Lebedev.
