Russia and UAE Agreed On Mutual Security of Investments

Russian President signed into power Federal Law #215-ФЗ from December 1, 2012, on the Ratification of the  Agreement between the Government of the Russian Federation and the Government of the United Arab Emirates on Incentives for and Mutual Security of Investments.

The Agreement provides for the development of a contractual, legal framework designed to provide security for the investments of the contracting parties.

The main methods of investment security are:

• Allowing investment capital from the contracting parties to enter the territory of the other party;
• Each contracting party will provide the other party with a fiscal regime not less favorable than what is offered for the party’s own investors or investors of any third party;
• Each contracting party reserves the right to apply and implement in accordance with its legislation exclusions from its national regime for foreign investors and their investments.
