EU external relations commissioner to visit Belarus in March

BRUSSELS, February 6 (RIA Novosti) - EU External Relations Commissioner Benita Ferrero-Waldner will make a trip to Belarus in early March, her press secretary said Friday.

The spokeswoman said the European Commission was ready to develop direct political dialogue with Minsk.

The EU-Belarus relations have thawed since Belarusian authorities eased political restrictions ahead of elections last year and further improved with the release of several political prisoners last month.
