New Visa For Russian Speakers

Russian government approved Decree #719 from July 30, 2014 “On Introduction of Changes to Regulation on Forms, Procedures and Conditions for Issuing, Renewing, Re-Issue and Canceling Visas”. The Decree introduces a new type of visa – an ordinary visa for entry into Russia for becoming naturalized as a Russian citizen. The visa may be issued to a foreign citizen for up to one year on the basis of a decision on recognizing the person as a Russian speaker in accordance with the Article 33.1 of the Federal Law #62-ФЗ from May 31, 2002 “On Citizenship in Russian Federation”. This visa is always multi-entry.
