MOSCOW, February 16 (RIA Novosti) - One police
officer was killed and another wounded in a car chase in
Russia's North Caucasus republic of Daghestan on Monday, a
police spokesman said.
The incident occurred in the village of Alburikent,
northern Daghestan, when the driver refused to obey a police
patrol demand to pull over.
During the pursuit that followed, the suspected militants
fired at the police car and managed to escape.
On Sunday, police officers opened fire on another car that
refused to stop, killing an employee from the Mayor's Office of
Khasavyurt, a town in central Daghestan. Two more passengers
were wounded in the incident.
