Russian stock market suspends trade for an hour as shares plunge

MOSCOW, February 17 (RIA Novosti) - Russia's two main stock exchanges, MICEX and the RTS, suspended trading for an hour as of 4:05 p.m. Moscow time (13:05 GMT) on Tuesday as shares plunged.

By 4:05 p.m. Moscow time, the index of the ruble-denominated MICEX had dropped 6.40% from Monday's close to 666.43 points while the dollar-denominated RTS was down 7.10% at 566.03 points.
