Six killed in avalanche in Tajikistan

DUSHANBE, February 27 (RIA Novosti) - Six people were killed in an avalanche on a highway linking Dushanbe, the capital of Tajikistan, with the country's northern regions, a spokesman for the Tajik emergencies committee said on Friday.

"The avalanche ... engulfed a car with six occupants," he said, adding that all the people, including two children, died at the scene on Thursday.

"Their bodies have already been removed from under the avalanche and indentified," he added.
