MOSCOW, March 4 (RIA Novosti)

Below is a summary of crimes registered in Russia and the CIS on Wednesday, March 4

* A Kyrgyz opposition journalist, Syrgak Abdyldayev, who is also a member of the country's largest opposition party, was attacked in the country's capital, Bishkek, a spokesman for the republic's interior ministry said. The man is currently in hospital in a serious condition with 12 stab wounds and broken arms.

* Three unidentified attackers beat up the owner of a Mercedes-600 car and fled with his vehicle in Moscow, a police source said

* A Toyota Land Cruiser Prado worth over 1.5 million rubles ($41,000) was stolen in Moscow, a local police source said

* Over 3 kg (6.6 lbs) of heroin were seized from two suspected organizers of a drug supply chain in the southwestern Siberian city of Kemerovo, a police spokesman said

* Two soldiers were detained in the southern Russian city of Krasnodar on suspicion of raping an 18-year-old girl, an investigator said

* Two Kalashnikov assault rifles were seized from a bus driver in Russia's North Caucasus Republic of North Ossetia, a local police source said

* A total of 100 illegal slot machines were seized in the town of Belogorsk in the Far Eastern Amur Region, a spokesman for the local police department said

* Over 300 kg (661 lbs) of black caviar and 50 kg (110 lbs) of red caviar were seized in the Far Eastern city of Komsomolsk-on-Amur, a spokesman for the local FSB department said
