ROSTOV-ON-DON, March 16 (RIA Novosti) - A police
officer has been injured in an explosion in Russia's southern
republic of Ingushetia, a local law enforcement source said on
The blast occurred late Sunday in the Sunzhensky district
of Ingushetia. The explosive device went off as the police
officer drove up to his house in his car, the source told RIA
The officer was rushed to hospital with multiple injuries.
In a separate incident on Sunday, unknown assailants
opened fire from grenade launchers on a grocery store in the
Sunzhensky district, slightly damaging the building but there
were no casualties, an Interior Ministry spokesman said. A
search for the attackers is currently underway.
