MOSCOW, January 26 (RIA Novosti) - Belarus expects to
sign an agreement on the price of Russian gas supplies for 2009
with Russian energy giant Gazprom by the end of January, the
first deputy prime minister said on Monday.
"A gas price agreement has been all but prepared and will
be signed by the end of the month," Vladimir Semashko said.
"Some technical details are still to be agreed," he added.
He did not specify the gas price for the first and second
quarter. "Everything will depend on oil prices," Semashko said.
"The average price for the whole year will be $148 per 1,000
cubic meters."
Last year, Belarus paid $128 per 1,000 cu m.
