MOSCOW, March 16 (RIA Novosti) - Mikhail Margelov,
the Russian presidential envoy for Sudan and head of the upper
house's international affairs committee, announced on Monday
that he would pay official visits to Lebanon and Qatar on March
17-22.
Margelov's visits will see discussions of the situation in
the Middle East, including the Palestinian Territories and
Lebanon.
While visiting Qatar, Margelov will also focus on
discussions with regard to the situation in Sudan. The senator
believes Qatar holds a key role in regulating relations among
Arab countries.
The International Criminal Court recently issued a warrant
for the arrest of current Sudanese President Omar al-Bashir.
