XIANGGANG (Hong Kong), March 20 (RIA Novosti) - Six
people were killed and four others are still missing following
flooding at a coal mine in southwest China's Guizhou province
early on Friday, the Xinhua news agency reported, citing local
officials.
Thirteen miners from a total of 23 managed to escape from
the Lianfa Coal Mine, in the Qinglong County, the agency said.
The search for the missing miners is continuing. The cause
of the accident is being investigated.
China's mining industry is considered one of the world's
most dangerous, with accidents killing at least 3,000 miners
every year.
