URGENT: Putin expects global economy to rebound in late 2009

MOSCOW, January 27 (RIA Novosti) - Russian Prime Minister Vladimir Putin has said that he believes the global economy will start recovering from the current crisis by the end of this year.

"We believe elements related to positive development trends will become tangible at the end of this year or in early 2010, and we hope some industries will see the light at the end of the tunnel as soon as the middle of this year," Putin said in an interview with the Bloomberg business news agency.
