DUBAI, April 8 (RIA Novosti) - Dubai police released
on Wednesday a Russian tourist detained in connection with the
murder of former Chechen military commander Sulim Yamadayev,
Russian Consul General Sergei Krasnogar said.
St. Petersburg resident Maxim Dolgopolov had been under
arrest for over a week, with his extended detention reportedly
the result of a bad joke during police questioning.
Police chief Lt. Gen. Dahi Khalfan bin Tamim has said that
two people have been arrested over the March 28 murder of the
former Vostok battalion commander and another four would be put
on Interpol's wanted list, including Adam Delimkhanov, an MP
from Chechnya in the lower house of the Russian parliament.
Dubai police said on Tuesday they have conclusive proof
that Delimkhanov, closely associated with President Ramzan
Kadyrov, was involved in the killing of Yamadayev. The State
Duma deputy denied any involvement in the crime and vowed to
help the investigation.
