Rosatom proposes bonds issue to fund nuclear plant construction

MOSCOW, April 15 (RIA Novosti) - Russia's state nuclear power corporation Rosatom has proposed that the government issue bonds to finance the construction of nuclear plants, Rosatom head Sergei Kiriyenko said on Wednesday.

"It is impossible to build a nuclear plant with loans extended at 16% per annum. We have drafted a proposal on revenue-yielding bonds and are waiting for a decision [by the government]," Kiriyenko said.
