Russian monetary base up $871 mln in week to $120 bln

MOSCOW, May 15 (RIA Novosti) - Russia's Central Bank
said Friday the country's narrowly defined money supply (M1)
was 3 trillion 848.2 million rubles ($119.9 billion at the
current exchange rate) as of May 15, up 28 billion rubles ($871
million) since May 4.
According to the Bank, M1 money supply consists of the
currency issued by the bank, including cash in vaults of credit
institutions, and required reserves balances on ruble deposits
with the Central Bank.
