(Updates the number of injured, recasts throughout) BEIJING, May 18 (RIA Novosti) - Six people have died after a road bridge collapsed in central China's Hunan Province, Xinhua said on Monday. About 200 meters of the bridge, supported by eight pillars, fell on a busy road in downtown Zhuzhou city on Sunday, burying 27 cars and a bus. The bridge was closed by the government on May 5 to be dismantled. Thirty-three people were injured. A rescue operation, involving 550 rescuers and 30 heavy machines, is ongoing and 15 vehicles have already been dug out of the rubble. The municipal public security bureau said several people had been detained in connection with the accident, but did not give any details. More news
