MOSCOW, June 21 (RIA Novosti) - Thieves have made off
with over 10 million rubles ($320,000) in cash from a local
education department in Russia's North Caucasus republic of
Daghestan, local police said.
The incident occurred on Saturday in the republic's
Shamilsky district.
"Unidentified people broke entered the building in the
village of Khebda, and after breaking down the door of the cash
office, stole a safe containing over 10 million rubles in
cash," a police official told RIA Novosti.
The money was to be used to pay local teachers.
