Fuad Masum, the President of Iraq made special mention about excellent work of two Russian oil giants Lukoil and GPN. According to him, both companies proved themselves to be serious and reliable partners. On Iraq territory Russian oil companies are developing new reserves of “black gold”. Iraq authorities, in their turn, are seriously engaged in providing safety for Lukoil and GPN employees.
Fuad Masum accentuated, that both Russian companies are the partners that are wanted to be worked with. The President of Iraq doesn’t have any claims to activities of oil giants. GPN has been collaborating with Iraq for 6 years. The company is working on four projects. Three of them are located in Kurdish region. GPN shares in Halabja and Shakal sectors make 80%.
“Western Kurna-2” is a shared project of Lukoil company and Iraq. The company invested 5,3 billion dollars in “Western Kurna-2”. In addition, Lukoil wants to participate in developing reserve near Iraqui town of Nasiria, as well as in building petroleum refinery, that will reach the power of 300,000 barrels daily.
