The quantity of companies that no longer operate due to being excluded from state register by the decision of Federal Tax Service in 2016, amounts to record 634,5 thousand, that is 3,7 times more than in 2015 (173,7 thousand), according to the information on the FTS web site.
Tax authorities from the end of 2015 consistently carry out work for excluding non-operating legal entities from USRLE (the companies, which during 12 months don’t present reports or do any banking), the majority of which are shell companies, that were created to evade taxes, and also to give out bribes, perform illegal withdrawal of funds abroad, finance terrorist activities.
In 2006 taxmen excluded from USRLE 257.2 thousand companies, in 2007 — 286,3 thousand, 2008 — 231,7 thousand, 2009 — 166,2 thousand, 2010 — 142,6 thousand, 2011 — 432,8 thousand, 2012 — 441,4 thousand, 2013 — 335,3 thousand, 2014 — 336,1 thousand.
In order to prevent operating of already created shell companies, tax authorities have the right to make entries about unreliable data of a legal entity themselves, without legal opinion and claims of legal entities.
The quantity of companies which stopped operating due to reorganization in 2016 decreased comparing with 2015 on 40,3% up to 41,9 thousand from 70,7 thousand. In 2014 there were 59,9 thousand of such companies. The quantity of companies which stopped operating due to liquidation increased on 2,7% up to 63,8 thousand from 62,1 thousand, of which the quantity of liquidated companies due to bankruptcy decreased on 10,3% up to 9,9 thousand from 11,0 thousand. The quantity of liquidated bankrupted companies for the last 5 years was fewer only in 2013 (9,6 thousand).
The total amount of companies which stopped operating in 2016 got to 740,6 thousand, that is 2,4 times more than in 2015 (306,7 thousand). At the same time, the quantity of business organizations, enregistrered in state list as newly created, in 2016 amounted to 430,6 thousand, that is 4,1% fewer than in 2015 (459,9 thousand), the ones created by reorganization — decreased on 42,1% up to 6,1 thousand from 10,6 thousand.
According to FTS, total amount of operating business companies, information of which is included in the Unified State Register, during 2016 decreased on 6,1% up to 3 million 895 thousand from 4 million 150,4 thousand. The total amount of legal entities, information of which is included in the State Register decreased during the year on 5,5% up to 4 million 553,8 thousand from 4 million 820,4 thousand.
