* A man from the Samara Region in the Volga Region is suspected of murdering his mother and subsequently eating parts of her body, an aide to the region's chief investigator said

* Drug police in Russia's second largest city of St. Petersburg have uncovered a drug lab, capable of producing approximately 10 kg (22 lbs) of heroin per month, the local drug police department said in a statement

* Uzbek border guards have detained a man in possession of about 1 kg (2.2 lbs) of heroin on the border with Tajikistan

* Drug police in Siberia's Tomsk Region have seized almost 600 grams (1.3 lbs) of heroin, a spokesman for the local drug police department said

* An Uzbek national in possession of about 400 grams of heroin (0.9 lbs) was detained in the Sverdlovsk Region in the Urals, Russia's Interior Ministry said on its website

* Two carjackers beat a Moscow businessman and stole his Lexus luxury car worth over 1.5 million rubles ($42,000)

* A search is underway for a red Porsche Cayenne, which was stolen in downtown Moscow, a police source said
