MOSCOW, March 5 (RIA Novosti) - Russian Prime
Minister Vladimir Putin is to chair a meeting in St. Petersburg
on March 6 on the development of the Russian civilian
shipbuilding industry.
"We plan to discuss at the meeting the main aspects of the
development of the Russian civil shipbuilding industry and to
work out a strategy for its further development," a source in
the government staff said.
The Russian prime minister is also set to visit the Krylov
Shipbuilding Research Institute in St. Petersburg.
Some 160,000 people are employed at 168 shipbuilding
enterprises across Russia. Most of the enterprises are located
in the northwest of the country.
