The prices on red caviar and fish before the New Year celebrations will grow due to keen demand, but there’s no product shortage. This was declared by the head of Federal Agency for Fishery Iliya Shestakov on Tuesday, December 13.
“In the run-up to New Year it’s clear, that seasonal growth will take place, these are trade laws, because of a keen demand on such kinds of gourmet items as red caviar, red fish, that everyone wants to buy for new year dinner table”,
- said Shestakov.
But the volume of supply on the market is quite big, that’s why only insignificant price growth will take place. “These may be scatters related to the lack of product in some certain shop or to the absence of a certain product that hasn’t been delivered from Far East yet. Generally, the volume is quite big, the prices in the Far East are falling.
According to the Federal agency of Fishery, in 2016 consumer prices on fish have grown on 7,7%. The recent information from ROSSTAT shows that fish in Russia has become more expensive from the beginning of the year and reached 7,9%.
